You just can't escape the truth....

especially in this day and age of technology. Not saying it is all entirely one party or the other's fault, but it is a combined fault. Not as it has been touted since President Obama took office. I ask that each of you share this with a few friends or family, it NEEDS to go viral, people NEED to be reminded of who said what and did what, when. As I said above this mess is the responsibility of BOTH parties, now it's time to hold them all accountable.  The only way to change the course of things is to vote for those you think will work for the best interest of the people and then HOLD their FEET to the fire, make them accountable for any and all actions. We as a nation can no longer sit back and let the politicians run this country, "We the People" NEED to oversee everything, remember they are working( supposed to anyway) for our best interest.

You are exactly right, until the government goes back to FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, we are heading for disaster.

Very true, very true indeed.

I agree that both parties have had a hand in the decline of the country. I'm sure I could argue more for one side than for the other, but I won't. To me, the problem with the blanket "vote 'em out" statement is that A) Some of the better congress members would be tossed out and B) I don't see anyone running that is any better and not running on an agenda that puts ALL the people before their party.

If there is a suggestion on a good one, I would love to hear who it is.

Thanks everyone for your comment, this is a subject that doesn't have a clear answer but as many hands make light work, I think many heads working to fix this mess may well come up with a viable solution.

Debbie,
As I said yes vote out those who are not working for our best interest, but also we certainly NEED to hold those voted in accountable from the get go.

CJ,
I agree, that is why it is so frustrating, it all so corupt it makes me sick :o(
If you don't mind what do you think would work? I'm thinking, thinking and thinking about how to try to make heads or tails of this mess. The ole' saying of vote out one party and in with another, well.... just look back it doesn't work. I'm not even sure if a thrid party would make a difference or just make it more of a mess*sigh*

nice post... good little reminder and recap. as a libertarian, i do see both parties broken and at fault, but the media won't pick up a third party candidate so at times it does feel hopeless. i was very excited about ron paul but we see how far he got.

My suggestion on where to begin, two actually: Eliminate K street. Make all lobbying illegal. Second, make it so all political donations go into a general fund that every candidate has equal access to.

I agree with you and I'd like to add in that all politicians receive the same benefits( healthcare, retirement, annual cost of living bonuses, etc...) that we have. I'd also like to add that as it was in the beginning it was an honor to be asked to represent your state and now it's turned into a lifetime career, lets cut their wages by more than half and once your done, your done, no lifetime supply of FBI or bodyguards( mainly former Presidents, not sure about congress).

Anyone else who'd like to add in their $.02 it's welcomed :o)

How about good middle ground common sense? Not extremes just take the high road and the low road (just an expression) and approach it from the middle. Extremes make for lofty unreachable goals.

Again party affiliation has nada to do with it. Both parties have good and bad points and both parties have whose cheating on who, whose stealing from who, major greed. Both parties also have some good, community minded, middle ground common sense.

How you register to vote has nothing to do with your content as a person.
