We've been awarded a VERY fitting award!

Lamb, over at "Waiting on the Other Shoe"  gave us this award!  Thank you Lamb!
We certainly resemble the award title, PTL for; gardens, homestead animals, homemade soap and mud rooms, LOL!
We are to pass this award to three other blogs, as directed.  Now I find this hard to do, as we have so many blogs we love. Here goes:........
Good Wife Farm

Subsistence Pattern

Self Sustained Living

We enjoy many, many, many more blogs( actually to many, LOL!!!!) feel free to check some of these out on our side bar" Favorite Blogs" as well as listed under "Blogs Followed" , listed in our Profile. :o)

Blessings for the remainder of your week,

Sylvia over at   http://homesteadhope.blogspot.com/2011/01/stylish-blogger-award-me-ah-thanks.html  honored us with this blog award! We are truly honored, thank you Sylvia :o), you made our day!

as part of this reward, there are 4 things I am asked to do as a recipient:

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award
2. Share 7 things about yourself
3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award!

7 things about myself: Hmmmmm...........

1. I'm a blond, but not in the true sense of the meaning( well I do have my moments, LOL!!)
2. I am a "jack of all trades and working hard to "master" some*wink*
3. I'm very interested in natural healing, I've been studying herbology and homeopathic for almost a decade. In this time I've but only scratched the surface of all there is to learn, so I keep studying and learning.
4. I love all animals, especially horses
5. I tend to be a hermit, not feeling comfortable around large crowds of people. This is why I enjoy our blog so much, I meet truly wonderful people and don't have the pressures of attending a large social event*wink*
6. Before becoming a mother, homemaker and homesteader I was( still am) a..............licensed Cosmetologist. When in school I participated in stylist competitions. I won at Montana state level, was supposed to go to regional, but Mike and I were newlyweds and simply couldn't afford to travel to CA for the regional competition. Although I only attended the State competition, I received a half dozen offers from CA, in particular "Hollywood" to be a stylist to the movie stars. It seems like another life when I think back over it all now, LOL!!!!  Can't you imagine me as hairdresser to the stars, NOT!!!!! LOL!!!
7. As I age, I find myself changing my tolerances( maybe it's just maturity and growth?), for example instead of trying to always be the peacemaker, only to end up hurt, I have begun to take a stand to things/ people. I no longer keep the inner thoughts inside. Now I have to admit I have had to learn to reign in and be careful the words, my tone and attitude. For years I've always kept quiet, not wanting to stir the pot or make things worse, protecting someone elses feeling before my own, etc..... Why not say how you feel and know that you don't have to put up with the ill behavior of others. Life is simply to short to be upset, angry, bitter or depressed. I've always looked at the glass as half full, and from here, forward I hope to see the glass as full to overflowing, although not in a Rosy tone. *wink*

Hope this helps others to understand a little more of what makes me tick *wink*

Again Thank you Sylvia for this award.
As to passing this award forward I always wonder who does and who does not like these type of things so.......  If you are reading this, a blogger and you feel so led, please copy the information above and display this award on your blog. Let me know so we can read a little news about you.

May your week be blessed and productive :o)

This storm rolled in around close to 2 pm yesterday.
This picture is as it rolled from west to east( looking east)
It cooled down so quickly, this is an indicator of hail.
Thankfully we didn't get hail, only 1/10th inch of rainfall.

It was eery looking and it did lightening in the cloud and rumble a

bit. When ever it goes from well into the 90's and you see one of

these rolling in you worry about LARGE hail. On the evening

weather forecast, in several location in North Western MT they had

sightings of funnel clouds. In the city to our North, on Sat., they had

a funnel cloud sighting and a man was struck by lightening and killed.

We're beginning to harvest herbs for tinctures and drying. Here are

several bundles of each, Chamomile and Russian Tarragon, which

will be hung to dry.

Today our plan is to harvest our garlic; braid and hang to dry.

The Greek oregano and sage are ready for harvest and lets us not

forget our mints( choc., peppermint and spearmint) for tea and

tinctures. Our Hyssop, lemon balm and wormwood are next on

the harvest list.

We're still weeding, we about have it all caught up, now if the

rain would cease long enough so we could finish and till the

walkways. All in all the garden looks to be producing well.

Our first planting of radishes are done, so will sow another 1/2

row. The cucumbers will soon have blooms and not long following

will be cukes. Our bush beans( Bocchicia) are beginning to bloom,

we of course will look forward to our first meal of fresh beans, new

potatoes and ham, YUM! YUM!

This last weekend we removed the "Walls of Water" from the

tomatoes and surprise, surprise they all have nice sized fruit

forming. The peppers are blooming and Mike de-weeded

our two rows of carrots, which are thick and thriving, even if they

were being choked by the weeds. Our cabbage( red and early flat

dutch) are forming nice sized heads, they seem to favor the

location we planted them in this season( shady in the heat of the

day)

The second planting of sweet corn is up about 3-4 inches tall,

praying we have a long enough season for them to produce.

The Rhubarb is ready for it's final harvest until late Fall. It isn't

going to amount to much, so we'll simply freeze it for later use.

Okay need to run and get laundry on the line, let the girls(cows)

out and clean their barns and then weed and harvest in the

garden.

Many blessing for your day!

We've been tagged with a blog award!

You are a hard worker. Someone who takes the scrap out of life and builds things with it. Someone who has so much going on that others can see the evidence of it all around you. You are one who contributes mightily to life.

This award was given to us by, http://lemonadeadventures.blogspot.com/ Faith and Michael have a great blog, full of hard work, blessings, challenges and beautiful pictures. They go it alone, with only each other. Please check out their blog, you won't be disappointed.

When you are awarded the Honest Scrap award here are the things you should do. (I am keeping in mind it is the middle of growing season and all of you may not have the time)

First, you have to tell your readers 10 things about you they may not already know, but are true.

Second, you have to tag 10 people with the award.

Third, you have to let the people you've given the award to, know that they've received this award from you.

Finally, make sure you link back to the person who awarded you.

Here goes the 10 things you may not know about me;

1. I'm afraid of heights, especially if on a ladder.

2. I am artistic, drawing and painting. Watercolor is my favorite medium, then pastels

3. I will eat anything but.... brussel sprouts, YUCK!

4. I've enjoyed our home schooling adventure but am looking forward to greener pastures, so to speak, now that Cortney is finishing up and graduating.

5. The only times I've been in the hospital are when our children were born and I've never had surgery for anything.

6. My eyes are blue and your probably saw that I'm blonde by my profile picture, but..... I certainly don't fit the blonde bill, rather I should have been a red head! LOL!

7. I dislike spiders, I used to fear them, but kind of out grew that. If they stay outside they live, if they dare come inside my house they are DEAD!

8. I could easily be a hermit, although I do like visitors, I don't like crowds of them.

9. My favorite food is...... homemade cherry pie

10. My husband, Mike, is my soulmate, love you honey!

I'll have to work on passing this award on another evening, as we've had a long hot day of weeding in the garden and I plain ole pooped and ready for some shut eye. I'll post my award choices on an Award part 2 blog. Thank you Faith and Michael and sorry I'm so late in getting this all wrapped up*blushing*

Our Blog has received an award!

WOW! I've seen awards on other blogs and now
our blog has been blessed with one! Thank you
Jenny, who, BTW is my cousin and she is an amazing Mom.
I'd have never known about blogging if
it wasn't for my Aunt Linda, suggesting we should
get one going because others would be interested
in what we do here on, The Never Done Farm, so
Thank you Aunt Linda!

I'd like to share this award with a few of our favorite blogs.
Please visit each of them, they all have something special to offer.
Here are our choices and it was hard to comply with only choosing
eight, as we have at least a dozen we love to follow. Many of
those have already received awards, so tried to pick those who
haven't yet.
http://lemonadeadventures.blogspot.com/
http://auntjennysworld.blogspot.com/
http://holly-applesofgold.blogspot.com/
http://happydays1948.blogspot.com/
http://smallfarmgirl.blogspot.com/
http://thistlecovefarm.blogspot.com/
http://wyo-helpmeet.blogspot.com/
http://grasshopperviewpoints.blogspot.com/

Okay we have a very honorable mention, we simply couldn't
leave them out!
http://malachi4-black.blogspot.com/

Thanks again Jenny! *wink* We thought maybe we'd return it to you

but that could create a vicious circle and we stipulated if a blog

has already received an award we'd look for those who hadn't.

This just made our day all the more special!

Blessings to you all.
