R.I.P. Licorice

Licorice was continuing to go downhill, so we put him down, we were not going to let him suffer.
We are all okay and feel we did everything humanly possible to keep this little fella alive, he just didn't wish to go on.  It's hard loosing any animal, but a baby animal for some reason makes it harder.

Thank you all for your prayers, concern and support, as I stated earlier we were somewhat prepared that this might end up being the case. Raising bottle babies is a risk, no matter what type of animal. It's ALWAYS best if the mama can raise the baby.

Thank you again, we'll miss this little fella!

Sorry to hear about Licorice. Like you know, things like that happen on a farm. I hate that you had to lose the freezer full of meat too. It would have been nice, I'm sure, next year. Sorry once again.

It happens sometimes but it still hurts. Licorice had lots of love and care in his short life. I know you will miss him. Hugs

His time was short, but you made sure he was surrounded with love and compassion all of his days. I know that eased his suffering.

I'm so sorry Kelle...Since moving to Southwest Wisconsin and living amongst farms that raise beef, we get to see calves regularly and I've come to really love these animals. I truly feel your sadness.

Oh, dear, I am so sorry. I was thinking about the little guy last night and praying he'd find some strength. He was a cute little guy. I know you did the best you could, it's the part of farming that is not so much fun. Hugs...debbie

Death of any kind is painful to watch. We do our very best to give them the care they need, but sometimes things just happen....

I'm so sorry Licorice didn't make it. You did all you could and then some. You were good to him.

Well dang. first time I've taken away from getting ready to visit and it's to find Lico passed; I am sorry. I hate it when death comes, even more when it's a young one with the promise of life ahead. With the old ones, it's just a tad easier on my heart.
Merry Christmas, Kelle, God's blessings on you, yours and the work of your hands and heart.

i haven't hardly been on the computer the last few days and am catching up. i'm sooo sorry about licorice. he was so adorable and i remember you said he was bounding around playing not long ago. i know that must be difficult to have gone through. hope you guys are doing okay. glad you got him and gave him the best chance he had. i'm a firm believer all these innocent beautiful animals that help and heal us so much have a place in heaven along side us.

Sorry, Kelle -- you all did you very best at trying to make it work for Licorice. Life and death - living on a farm always makes it so real to us, don't you think?

As we came in from seeing our surprise calf, I thought of Licorice RIP'ing. And thought of you, too Kelle, Mike and Courtney.

Thank you all for your prayers, concern and condolenses. We've tried to move forward and not get caught up in the loss, especially right at the holidays( I hope that doesn't sound uncaring) We know it was in his best interest and we miss the little fella already( funny how you get into a routine so quickly)

Amy,
Glad to hear from you!, congrats on the "Surpize" calf, praying all goes well for you. If the mama is a good one that is the best measure for sure.

Many blessings for your days coming up to Christmas,
Kelle
