Prayers for our community....

It's like a fog and everyone is walking around not knowing how to react to the ambulance call last night. The call was for a possible shooting, multiple victims. We live in a small rural community and word spreads quickly( especially with cell phones, testing and twitter*sigh*)  This is being reported as a possible homicide by the news media because there is a full investigation going at this moment.

Sadly the young man killed is a friend, Mike has a very close relationship with him, as he is employed by Mike. The other young man tried to commit suicide and we don't know whether or not he survived, he was flown by helicopter to the city hospital.  All of this apparently is the result of jealousy over a young woman. It's mind boggling to think that the use of a gun would come first over words or even fists, so..... so... sad.

I take comfort in the Word this morning, to try and make some sense of what has happened. One thing stood out to me in the Word, there is a purpose for everything, even if we don't understand it.  My thoughts and prayers now go out to the family of our friend and the family of the other young man as well. Praying also for our own understanding and being able to deal with all of this sorrow.

What has happened to our society? We NEED to be in daily prayer for our country and it's people. More so now than ever, and as times get more stressful that we don't continue to see these poor choices made. :o(

Such emptiness in this finality of  this death and the loss of such a wonderful, bright, full of zest young man. He will be missed by many who loved him.

I will keep you and Mike, your family and community in prayer. We as a nation HAVE to get back to morals, values, integrity and family values. Truly to get back to God.

I'm so sorry. We had a strange attack and murder happen in our little town a few decades ago. It was a young Christian couple, with twin newborns; a freak occurrence during ministry work that maybe they were not careful enough in doing. Thank God the babies survived but it was an ugly 24 hour period that haunted the community for years afterward.

I'm a bit overwhelmed at all the evil going on in the world right now as well. I don't know how the Lord can stand it, as He is aware of ALL of it, and I know hardly any - yet it's still mind boggling.

One day soon....

Thank you all for your kind words, prayers and support.

Yesterday was extremely hard for Mike and his employees, as they were baraged with media personel, all looking for their story. You'd think they'd have sense enough to let wounds heal a bit, one news man even went so far as to ask if Mike would give him Ryan's mothers phone #, at this point Mike firmly asked him to leave the store.

I know people handle trama in different ways but they even had a man come in and ask if he could apply for the opening they now had! What is wrong with people that they are so uncaring and self centered? Mike was stunned and didn't even know how to respond to the man. One thing is certain, this man didn't make any brownie points with Mike.
The other young man died shortly after arriving at the hospital, and I believe this is a blessing, for him, as well as his family. Our prayer now is that the community pulls together to support both families instead of being torn apart. This is where I have a problem with the media, as it seems they are inciting sides and divisions in this tragedy.

Please continue to pray for the community and families who lost their sons.
Blesings,
Kelle
