Update:
Cortney passed her written driver's test and now has her Learners Permit! :o)  She begins driving in Driver's Ed. on March 18th.

Thought we'd share a couple of necklaces Cortney just finished. The one on the left was a commissioned order, where the patron provided the center piece and the two pearls on either side of it and the one on the right, Cortney made as a donation for the "Volunteer Fireman's Chili Feed", the second weekend in March.  She wanted to donate one last year but she was still perfecting her beading skills.
If you click on each photo, you'll see a more close up version.

Our week last week was so.... hectic and ended in disappointment. We headed into the city( Mike took the afternoon off from work, so when Cortney passed her test we could celebrate), upon arrival at the drivers license office we were informed that their computers for testing had gone offline just ten minutes before our arrival. Her appointment was for 2:30pm and we waited until 3:45pm and still no Internet, so we had to reschedule for tomorrow at 3pm. The kicker is our weather is falling back into the sub zeros with snow beginning tonight and we all know how much I love driving on bad roads*sigh*  I guess if it's to bad we'll cancel and wait for better weather to reschedule, it certainly isn't worth taking the risk of an accident.  Please keep her in your prayers, as she's worked so... hard for this test and was so.... disappointed she didn't get to take it on Friday. I'll be glad when it's done and she can begin the driving part of he Driver's Ed. course.  We'll have to check on insurance costs for her and she's going to pay half. This is how we started Jon off until he had a regular paycheck coming in.

We're working on laundry and prepping for this cold snap. I will say, with this winter being so up and down I've grown intolerant of these cold snaps, I'm ready for Spring, mud and all!

Blessings for your day!

The necklaces are just beautiful.

I understand about delayed tests. So much of preparation is getting "psyched" to take tests and it is so disappointing when it doesn't happen when scheduled. I hope all goes well when she does take it.

Hugs,
Lois

Beautiful necklaces. Bummers on the test cancellation. For me on something like that makes it very stressful. Hoping all goes well and on schedule for her.

Cortney is talented! So sorry for her disappointment, but perhaps God had a reason for her not taking it right away.

Our weather has turned back off cold as well, but I know spring is on the way!

The necklaces are very cool. Did you make the snowflake part on the left one, top picture?

Sorry Cortney didn't get to take the test. She will get it though!

Cortney was so tickled to see all of your responses. Mike and I tell her they are beautiful, but when someone else says it, it of course holds more water.*wink*

Mark,
No Cortney did not make the centerpiece, it was given to her by the woman who commissioned the necklace, it was her mother's as well as the two pearls on either side of the centerpiece.

Well, off to take the test, you can be sure I'm calling ahead to make sure their computers are working before we leave. We're hoping to beat the snow, we're forecasted for a 70% change but after 5pm.Whew! Please keep us in your prayers today :o)

Thank you all for your compliments and comments,
Kelle

Congrats Cortney. So happy for you having passed the written test. Now the driving part, you did great here in Lefor with the small truck so I'm sure you will do great with a car. Love the necklaces and the design you have for them. Who gives you the ideas or are they your own? Will try to get to Billings one of these days. Love and miss you. Granny Nita

Your header photos are simply great! It's always such a pleasure, visiting The Never Done Farm and seeing what's going on. Sorry about the DL test and not sure I'd let her take it in the snowstorm; why take an unnecessary chance?
As to Monsanto...no news there; they have always been against family farms. I just can't understand why family farms support Monsanto; around here, people are always buying Monsanto. Not me!

Hi Kelle,
Denise was here with Leroy and wanted to know how to do all you do so she went onto this site. I see her name came up on my comments. So will see where this goes. Will call you and have you talk to her. She wants to grow and can and do all you do.....lesson 101 coming up,.

I was already eyeing the one on the right for my daughter, but read the next line..........so pretty.
I know what you mean about prices going so high. It is hardly worth keeping the hens. But oh, how I love those fresh farm eggs.
I see every week now where products I buy regularly have gone up so much just in two weeks. Looks like it is going to be the trend for sometime, but I sure hope not.
