This was one of five tornadoes that hit the Billings area today at 4:30 pm. This video does contain the use of bad language in the very beginning. So far no injuries are reported, PTL!  Several building were destroyed. This particular building is the designated Civil Defense building, I guess they found out it isn't structurally safe for tornado protection.  This sort of stuff just isn't in the norm for Montana, makes me worry about what the rest of the summer has in store for us.

This storm passed right over our place,PTL we only say lightening, thunder, 3/10th of an inch of rain in 20-30 minutes and some wind toward the tail end of the storm.

Thank the Lord that no one was injured. Sure was a scary video. I can't believe those people stayed there so long.

First year I moved here, I was leading a youth group at a park and a tornado came right through it. No shelters anywhere, and it was headed right for the cars, so we couldn't make a run for them to get away.

We finally ran into the bathrooms that looked like cinderblock, a very common building material around here. We all huddled on the floor in the bathroom, then I looked up and realized the cinderblock was a painted illusion. The walls were just plywood. LOL

By this time we had no idea if the tornado was about to go over us or not, but we had to see, so two quickly went out and looked around the building. It had turned and gone off the other way. We watched it drop and raise up to the sky several times until it was out of site.

Quite a memory! :o)

It's a mess, the clean up has begun, we're watching the Billings news and now that it is daylight they are showing just how bad it was. Homes damaged by golfball sized hail, flooded by the flash flood of receiving 2-1/2" of rain in about 10-15 minutes plus the tornado that caused all the damage, there were five reported in different locations of Billings and the outlying areas, although these touched the ground no damage was done. PTL, still no deaths or injuries reported.
We saw the funny hanging down clouds as it passed over us and I told Mike, someone is going to see a tornado.
Please pray we're still under sever weather warnings for this afternoon, all the conditions are right for another bad storm.
We sat down as a family and discussed what we'll do in the event of a tornado and how to deal with the animals( horse, cows, chickens, turkeys)
Very scarey stuff and I don't like thunder and lightening storm to begin with, thank the Lord we have a rootcellar. BTW,I'm moving some jugs of water down there as well as canned food, just in case we were stuck in there for a period of time. We do have carots and onions still down there*wink*

Amazing footage. very scary. Can't believe they were so close to the storm. kinda dangerous I'd say, but the footage is great. They should sell it to the news...debbie

As someone who lived in tornado alley most of my life, if you have a tornado warning, worry about yourself, not the animals. Try to take care of things when there is a watch, before things get bad.
