For those of you who live where tornadoes are common, you won't be surprised, but here in Montana and in this area in particular, there hasn't been a tornado of this size since 1959( according to the local news) We did have what was called a Micro burst in 1999, while we lived in the heights, but the funnel never touched down.  We lived in Billings heights we lived just 2-3 miles NE of this damage before moving to our homestead. Photos of the damage in the Billings Heights area

Today we're fore casted to receive similar weather, so praying it doesn't do anymore damage anywhere like yesterday afternoon.

We had some nasty weather here in Kalispell at the same time, but nothing to compare to this tornado! Who would have thought there would be weather like this in Montana!

Did you get a measurement up there yet of the power of it?

That must have been scary to be so close to the tornado. Glad to hear it missed you.

I love the calf picture in your header. I saw the picture and said awwww, and had to have my husband look at the calf it was so cute! I miss having calves.

SFG,
Thank you , your prayers worked todays bad weather went to the East of us, Hardin, Broadus and Miles City look to be in for some bad weather with hail and high winds.

Sandra,
Thank you, this weather is so unusual for Montana. We've been getting the root cellar stocked with water, food and other needed items if we had to take shelter. Please keep us in your prayers, they are of comfort.

Darlene,
We're approx. 60+ miles from Billings( to the South East) but lived in the Billings Heights up until 7 and a half years ago when we moved here to our homestead. We lived there in 1999 there was a micro burst that caused lots of flash flooding and damage due to hail and high winds, that was bad enough for me thank you. Our weather has been so strange this year, cool and wet and everything just seems to be behind.

Faith,
It was ranked as a F2, as a friend of mine in the midwest said, it was only a dust devil compared to what they see. I know this to be true but for MT it was very bad and there hasn't been a tornado here in this area since 1958.

Cheryl,
Thank you, I thought it was such a sweet picture I just had to share. I love baby animals but calves are my favorite.
We, too are glad the storm missed us, but sad for those who are suffering from the damage. One business man broke down and cried he is broken and can't imagine what he'll do while waiting to rebuild( small business owner)
It's been a wild week for sure, praying it all calms down, for everyone's sake.
